> Hailing from the squelchy plains of the Sunken Wastes, the Hedge Knights sally
> forth in search of riches and glory. Clad in heavy steel, their shields
> bearing the standard of their lord, a golden sun glowing on a field of argent and
> azure. They share but one pair of boots between them - to which anyone who has lost
> a shoe while trudging through the mud can attest! Their courage undaunted,
> barefoot, they march ever onward.

Our Mordheim campaign has long concluded. With my skaven warband quietly tucked
away, I have moved on to other projects - as is often the case, too many.

Have I mentioned we've been playing a lot of Cauldron?
[Cauldron](https://hillgiant.bigcartel.com/product/cauldron){. .anchor}.

But then a couple of members of the Strange Artifacts crew tried out
[Greathelm](https://malev-da-shinobi.itch.io/great-helm-pt){. .anchor}, a
skirmish game currently in development by
[Malev Da Shinobi](https://www.patreon.com/malev){. .anchor}.
Greathelm is a miniature agnostic game where you play a band of six knights on
an extremely small, 8.5" x 11" battlefield. My friends seemed to have a great
time playing, enough that some of them are already builing boards. So, I reviewed
the rules and committed myself to a quick holiday project!

Did somebody mention
[Boglanders](https://shop.ramshacklegames.co.uk/66-boglanders){. .anchor}? As it
turns out, I had five knight-like Boglander minis, between
[Set #2, The King's Guard](https://shop.ramshacklegames.co.uk/home/682-boglander-set-.html){. .anchor}
and
[Set #6, Armoured](https://shop.ramshacklegames.co.uk/home/690-boglander-set-.html){. .anchor}.
I had already based and primed them, so I was set? But wait, I need six models.
I was in luck, I had an extra, duplicate model in the bits box. A little
doctoring, cut off his head, et voila! I have my knights.

I just watched the miniseries, Station Eleven, for the third time. When it first
streamed during lockdown, I was completely taken in by the characters and the
story. I immediately found and read the book which, while it differs in some key
ways from the series, continues to tell a compelling story. It's not the
world-ending pandemic that I found interesting as much as how the remaining
people had moved on. Key characters born before and after the event related
differently to one another. It is well worth the watch and the read.

At the same time I was reading GURPS 3rd Edition, which I bought used at my
favorite local used book store, Black & Read in Arvada, Colorado. It has been
some years, I still haven't played the game. But, right away I started to think
about the world presente in Station Eleven as a campaign location for a role
playing game. There are interesting locations, like the Museum of Civilization
or anywhere on The Wheel. The Wheel itself provides locations and motion to set
a stage. There are heroes and villains, with plenty of space between for players
to create rich characters with meaningful stories.

I wrote down some notes but never pursued the project. As I re-watched the
series, however, I felt like digging out my notes. Even if I don't put together
a game I thought it might be cool to share what I have here, with you.
